Featured Artist: DLC Glass

Hi Denise! Thanks for joining us this week! Tell us about yourself.
My name is Denise Clenney. I am the owner of DLC glass and I live in Marshall, Michigan. I have a husband who's name is Mike, and two grown boys, Kiel and Tanner that are both married to some wonderful women and I am a proud grammy to two little grand-babies, Marley 3, and Oliver 6 weeks! I also have a very sweet dog named Sully.

When did you start crafting?
I was born creating things.

Have you experienced any major accomplishments or recognition?
I currently have my work for sale in a few stores in Michigan as well as Oklahoma. I also have been published in a few advertisements and mailings.

Have you ever experienced a craft disaster? What happened?
I have had many many disasters! One of the disasters was I filled my kiln up (a very large kiln) with some almost completed work and then set the kiln completely wrong! I wanted to do a slumping and instead did a full fuse! Ruining everything in the kiln.

Where can we find you? Are you on social media?

How important is marketing for your business?
Marketing is very important to me. I am always learning how to improve on this. Of course I have TheCraftstar to help me with any questions and they are amazing help, I am on Facebook, I have word of mouth, pass out a lot of business cards, which gets easier the more I do it and how now started on Twitter too!

What is your favorite item from your own shop, with link?

What are your 3 favorite items from other shops on The CraftStar, with links?
My favorite items are from Island Girl Expressions, Wide Eye Dyes, and Quilts by Elsie.

Denise has graciously also given readers a coupon code off their next order! From now until July 31, 2013 get 20% with code: GET20OFFYOURGLASS at checkout!

Thanks for taking the time to join us today Denise. We appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule so that we could interview you. Happy sales!

Wow, Denise that is quite a shop you have there and so neat too. Looks like you have a full time job with that and a large kiln. Wishing you lots of luck with your business on TCS.
