What is the story behind your shop name?
My shop is just an easy name..everything is completely made by me in my home studio.

Where, when, how did you learn your craft?
I started learning ceramics in 1998 at Camp Lejeune North Carolina. I was looking for a way to spend time with my young daughter.

What has been your biggest obstacle, or challenge, to finding and
achieving success?
The biggest obstacle for me is living the military family life we move around a lot. It's hard to move with a kiln. Thankfully reaching the age that we retire so that won't be an obstacle anymore.

Tell us a little about your family life...married, kids, pets, etc.
I am married to a Marine with 5 children over the age of 18 and a 2 year old. I also have a 2 legged chihuahua named Chewy.

Tell us a little bit about where you live....city, farm, suburb.
I live near the Marine base, Camp Lejeune North Carolina.

Share a story / memory of your childhood.
My favorite childhood memory is receiving a tea set for Christmas. I played with it every day. When I was done I would wrap it back up ever so carefully. After all the moves around the world we have done I still have that tea set. It is one of my most treasured possessions.

Tell us something about you that no-one else might know.
Something that no one else might know about me is that I am a 10 month breast cancer survivor!

If you could be a fictional character, who would you be, and why?
If I could be any fictional character I think I would love to be Nancy Drew. I love how smart and creative she was. She was devoted to solving crimes!

Share your social media links and where we can find you on the
internet.

Pick a favorite item from your shop, and why is it your favorite.
Teasets are probably my favorite creations because I love that they are going to a little girl that will treasure it for a lifetime. I've made so many special sets in so many themes..I love them.

What advise would you give a new artist just starting out?
The only advice I would have for other artists is to do what you love. Follow your passion. Share your love with your community to make your neighborhood a better place. I donate tea sets at Christmas time to our local women's shelter. I want to do more..I think as artists we should be involved with our community as much as possible.

Pick a favorite item from another shop, and why is it your
favorite.
I can't pick a single favorite from this shop..Tropic Accents is amazing! I'm partial to their geckos!

Do you have any special coupon codes for our readers?
 I have a 15% off coupon code..just enter cancerfree.

Thank you Kymm, for sharing your life, and your talent, with us.
Now get out there and share!

Be blessed,
Debbi
