On Monday's we here at The CraftStar try to share the trending subjects for your ease in promotion.
And now that it's summer, and craft show season, I thought it was high time we check out the favorite crafting trends so we can have success in our shows.
According to Lidewij Edellkoort of Trend Union, 2015 is a globally trend forecaster and she has called this 2015 a time of "embryonic renaissance", surrounding ourselves with materials and designs to make us "feel happy and safe".
I love this suitcase chair...very cool looking and comfy.
Recycle, reuse, renew....it's all the rage, and creating with leftovers is a big hit everywhere.
It's all about being natural and ecofriendly,
baskets created with rope and yarn stash,
Weaving with handcrafted looms is also hot...create belts, scarves, and wall hangings with geometric shapes and southwestern flair, and your booth will be a big hit.
Fave Crafts is a great site to inspire your creative juices, and they say that string art is something old that has become new again! I remember my sister creating some awesome string art pieces back in the 70's, and now I'm ready to create some of my own. It's fun and easy.
And wearable embroidery is selling fast too. Cross stitch some small designs and use them as pendants and earrings, very cool.
Geometric shapes, and paper goods such as flowers and daily planners....think 60's mod squad!
And over at Lifestyle.com here are their big picks for crafting 2015...
coloring in, think zen doodles and original coloring books
modern quilts...again with geometric designs
die cutting machines, again with the paper crafts,
knitting and crocheting, yea me. :0)
sewing our own clothes, great bonding time
tye dye....groovy baby.
string art and weaving,
wearable embroidery,
stenciling.
Basically...the summer of 2015 is all about DIY crafting, and seeing new uses in old items.
What is your favorite new crafting trend?
Don't forget to link up your creations in our month long linky party....and then check out all the other awesome creations.
